The LifeLine Wristband

Study after study has shown that aspirin, administered during or shortly after a heart attack, can prevent terminal damage to cardiac tissue, increasing the probability that life can be saved. LifeLine Products of Ohio recognized this, and wanted to make the commonly available drug close at hand — not via bottles or packettes, but with a wearable fashion statement.

The Challenge:

PakTecha was engaged to design a unique, wearable package that would protect a small dose of aspirin. This package needed to be easily accessible by the elderly or the physically compromised. The extended wish-list also included refill capability.

The Solution:

PakTecha’s trademarked OpenMind™ process resulted in the creation of the one-of-a-kind LifeLine Bracelet. Building on the silicon “LiveStrong” bracelet craze, PakTecha designed a one-size-fits-all bracelet. The bracelet incorporated a unique, moisture-resistant polypropylene carrier to protect a single-dose blister pack of medication. The use of polypropylene and its “living hinge” property ensured the medication’s security (and, brilliantly, its refill capability). Incorporation of the LifeLine logo clearly identifies the device.

Aggressive marketing programs to promote the sale and distribution of LifeLine will be initiated. Endorsements from leading national health organizations are pending. Healthcare, fashion, modern packaging materials –- PakTecha brought them all together, creating a home-run package for LifeLine Products.
