Thompson Nutritionals
Adora Chocolates

Thompson Nutritionals developed a tasty supplement that everyone wants to take – Rich Chocolate lozenges suffused with a special Calcium supplement. Thompson Nutritionals branded the new item, Adora Chocolates. Market studies and taste test evaluations were conducted using simple, cellophane-type packettes. The results from the studies were phenomenal and Thompson landed a large, North American account. Now, they needed a retail package design.

The Challenge: Thompson Nutritionals identified the target market to be women wishing to supplement their calcium intake. The package needed to contain ten lozenges; it needed to display the government required Nutritional Data Fact Panel. The package must fit into a woman’s purse, and the package must appeal to the female demographic.


The Solution: A variety of selections, each one offering all requirements, was created. The package designs were identified as fashionable and functional by a focus group of women from the demographic targeted. Nutritional Data was provided on a detachable card that could also be used as a coupon promotion device.
